Can the Phillies seriously be anymore pathetic this season? Talk about suckin some serious ass. I don't know about all you loyal Philly fans, but after watching this complete travesty this past week, all I got on my mind are the E- A - G - L - E - S, EAGLES!!
| I just bought and watched the Rocky Balboa DVD today. Been waiting for it ever since they stopped showing it in the theaters. I loved this movie since it completely redeemed the whole series and its one of those special movies thats all about having heart. If you're from Philly and you still haven't watched this movie then your ass needs to be forever exiled from the city of brotherly love. Speaking of Philly, I will be back in the 215 area this weekend for a friend's wedding. This time around I'll be the best man and personally I don't know what the hell I'm gonna say up there for the damn speech. Currently the best stuff I got is to start off by smashing a couple of thousand dollar bottles of champagne on my head and then bust out with some lines from the #1 BADASS MOVIE OF ALL TIME, "300", and then I shall finally cap off my speech with the Spartan war cry, "HAH ROO! HAH ROO!" Yeah, I'm sure that will get the crowd going. I know i'm loco bro, but I ain't Mexican. P.S. If you are a dude, and if you still haven't watched the movie "300" to this point, then the validity of your manhood needs to be seriously questioned. GO TARHEELS! Philly's own Wayne Ellington (Episicopal Academy) representin the Carolina Blue. He's definitely a diaper daaaaandy, baaaaby! | | |

I just got out of watching Rocky Balboa, man this movie definitely did "Rocky" some serious justice. After that last debacle of a movie, this is how EXACTLY how the franchise should have ended, putting Rocky back on top. It was pretty crazy watching the movie, people were cheering and getting excited when the movie was starting and especially during the fight with Antonio Tarver-- it just shows how dissapointed people were with the last movie. Anywayz, you need to go out and watch this movie. If you don't have a desire to then I pity your sorry ass because it means u got no heart. I'm glad that one Philadelphia Icon gets to leave on top with some dignity and pride. There is no movie that represents and defines a city better than Rocky I. That movie was so beloved by people from Philly because the character of "Rocky" perfectly identified with the people and the city itself. And in Rocky V, to see this great character being brought down to some sorry ass washed-up bum on the street was a complete travesty; therefore, that is why to this day I say that Rocky V never existed. Switching to a very similiar theme since we are on the topic of great Philadelphia icons, if you are from Philly and you don't feel any sorrow at the fact that AI is gone then your ass is seriously wrong too. For a person in Philadelphia to not feel for a guy that gave his heart and soul to this city is the equivalent to wearing a Dallas Cowboys Terrell Owens jersey. Yeah, so we get a decent point guard in Andre Miller and two draft picks for the Answer, but guess what? Do you think that we'll do anything worthwhile with those draft picks? With the exception of Andre Iguoudala, the Sixers have drafted pretty terribly since Allen Iverson. Billy King has to be the most inept general manager ever, probably one of the worst ever out of all the Philadelphia sport franchises. I feel that to kick to the curb a man that literally brought back basketball to Philadelphia is a crime. I remember those dark days when Charles Barkley was shipped out of here and for years we had one heinous season after next. That was seriously painful, watching Jeff Hornacek and those terrible teams get demolished night in and night out, and those days are upon us again. Sure, AI had his personal issues with not practicing and being outspoken or what not; but there was no player on the Sixers the past few seasons that ever put so much passion into winning and playing the game like AI. One of my greatest regrets was when I saw AI at Dave and Busters in Philly and not going up to him and thanking him for restoring basketball and some sense of pride back to Philly. With him gone and with King still in control, there is no hope in sight. King will continue to make incompetent decisions regarding personnel and assemble a poor team and we'll continue to be the doormats of the league for years to come. Its sad but its a reality that basketball no longer exists in Philly anymore, and I'm all for the Nuggets to win the championship now, because like "Rocky" the Answer needs to go out on top. Nobody deserves it more.

Man, if anybody was watching yesterday's Monday Night Football game got to see how Hollywood, aka Matt Leinart, is proving all his respective naysayers dead wrong. If you didn't jump on the Matt Leinhart bandwagon when he was just destroying people at USC you best jump on it now cause he's proving that he's the real deal. The way he calmly and cooly led the Cardinals yesterday against the NFL's best defense was reminiscent of his days at SC when he would just non-chalantly bring SC back into wins. I know the Cardinals lost, but it wasn't his fault; it was inept coaching and heartless play by their special teams and offensive line that caused the Cardinal's demise last night. Leinhart is just surrounded by a lot of garbage and its not right. I never quite understood why everyone doubted this guy, anybody knows that anyone playing the QB position in the NFL requires an exceptional amount of intangibles and intelligence to succeed. At SC he certainly had it and he displayed it all the time, just because the man is chillin with Paris Hilton and was the most dominating person at his position is no reason to disrespect his skills. Don't hate the player, hate the game. It seemed that people were just digging at stuff to blast this guy up until the draft. Well those teams that passed him up should feel like fools and if I was the general manager of the teams that passed him up, I would start throwing scouts into the streets for not drafting this guy-- such as the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and those other teams that have sorry ass quarterbacks. Same deal with the Texans and Reggie Bush, they should feel like fools cause Mario Williams hasn't done jack crap. I've been going to some USC games this year, and people keep bitchin about how USC isn't blowing out opponents and how they are not worthy of a #2 ranking. I'm starting to get into arguments with people about this and fools have to understand that SC is playing with a lot of freshmen due to injuries to a lot of key players and that they are nonetheless are getting wins in a pretty good conference---to pull that off that says a lot about the team. People have to know that SC will get healthy soon and when it comes time to play Cal and Notre Dame, and if they take care of business at that time, there is no question they will have a full right to go the national championship. Another thing that is seriously griping me this year about Monday Night Football is the fact that they took this away from ABC to ESPN. I mean Kornheiser, Tirico, and Theismann just flat out suck. I am very sure that I share this sentiment with millions of other people in this country who have been loyally watching Monday Night Football for years. There is no other way to describe it. I mean this is the pinnacle of the football week, Monday Night Football that is, and I'm pissed off that I have to sit around and listen to some garbage commentary while I'm watching the game. The stuff that these guys say during the game come straight out of their ass, simply as that. I don't know what the producers of ABC were thinking when they changed this up and dropped Madden and Michaels, who are the greatest announcers in the history of the game for these three chumps. Kornheiser belongs on PTI and Tirico and Theissman belong on the deuce covering bass fishing. Somebody at ABC needs to be fired for this. Another Eagles loss that should have been a victory, but this game was little more understandable being that we were in New Orleans and all. We need to get healthy quick and start minimizing stupid ass penalties and decisions. How the hell do you let 12 people on the damn field on a critical third down play.

REDEMPTION BAAABY! Great game yesterday, but watching this game I have not been completely satisfied with the Birds. I've noticed a very disturbing trend with the Birds and it doesn't sit well with me at all. First things first, if you think that the Eagles are legitimate contenders after yesterday you are a serious fool, cause they easily could have lost yesterday if Bledsoe wasn't a complete idiot. Here are two observations that I've noted yesterday: 1. Michael Lewis needs to seriously get his head out of his ass because it definitely seems to be up there during the games. After seeing the way this guy has been playing all year its hard to believe that this guy was a pro-bowler two seasons ago. All year long this guy has been giving up big plays and touchdowns and just straight up getting worked. 2. The Eagles keep people in games way too much. When we get turnovers or force punts we don't convert points as we should, its quite aggravating because our defense is dominating and by doing this we're letting teams stay in the game and give them opportunities for comebacks such as the Giants game and yesterday. The team in the NFC that is doing it is the Bears, and I don't see the Eagles at their level yet.
Switching to college football, last week there was a huge front page article on the cover of the Los Angeles Times Sports Section about USC's starting running back, Emmanuel Moody. The story chronicled Moody's past and it had stark similiarities with All Pro-NFL receiver Hines Ward, both of them had sorry ass dead beat fathers who left them when they were relatively young and had hard working single Korean mothers raise them. Moody is a starting tailback and taking over Reggie Bush's position at USC and to start as a true freshman at SC is an incredible feat. He originally was supposed to go to the University of Texas but his mother pushed him to go to SC due to the large Korean population in LA. He's tearing it up for the Trojans right now and making Koreans proud. In other notable USC news, yesterday's Saints and Cardinals games should shut up Matt Leinhart and Reggie Bush haters for a while.
